Customer Profile

Since 1982, Lender Support Systems Inc. (LSSI) has been a leading Mortgage Services Provider for more than 1200 customers worldwide.

Business Situation

LSSI wanted to enhance and combine their existing (Web and Thick-client) Closing Documents Solution to facilitate a better UI experience, enhance performance and provide a seamless integration with its customers using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Solution

Using the ASP.NET and AJAX technology, CCSI created a Web Services based, Web Application Framework for a richer UI experience and greater processing capabilities.

Benefits

  • Faster Document Processing
  • Greater Scalability
  • Seamless Integration with end users
  • Full feature flexibility

Lender Support Systems, Inc. Launches Docs3D, a Next Generation Document Solution for Mortgage Lenders.

“We developed Docs3D to provide lenders with a fully compliant, fast and accurate document preparation solution that seamlessly interfaces with virtually all existing LOS systems. LSSI strives to deliver a low cost, high quality alternative to other document preparation providers that results in increased profits per loan.”

Docs3D - an eMortgage enabled solution helps streamlines the loan closing process for mortgage lenders through a simplified, easy to use tool that performs accurate APR, payment, impound analysis and high cost calculations. Seamless data import capabilities allow the solution to work behind the loan origination system (LOS) for complete automation, only presenting applicable screens for more efficient document management.

Docs3D utilizes standards for all required formats, including MISMO, and offers required disclosures for all 50 states. Automatic data validation streamlines the process for consistently accurate documents. For the protection of the borrower, the software is built with 128-bit encryption and real time updates to cater to the changes within the industry.

SITUATION

Lender Support Systems Inc. had customers using their Loan Documents Solution via both the Web and the Windows GUI platforms. DocWin was used if the Client preferred a license model with an instance of the application deployed locally at Client site. WebDocs was used if the Client wanted to attain the services using a Web-based interface.

Both DocWin and WebDocs systems were written using FoxPro where the data resided in DBF files. These applications, although separate, had about 90% functionality in common. The overhead of maintaining these applications was significant. It was also hard to extend these applications to function under the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tenet due to the technology they were built upon.

LSSI was seeking the following features from its new Loan Documents Solution:

- Great UI Experience
- Less Maintenance Overhead
- Seamless Integration with customers

- Automatic Data Validation
- Performance Improvements
- Flexible, Robust and Extensible
   Architecture

SOLUTION

Using the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, ATLAS AJAX and SQL Server 2005, California Creative Solutions Inc (CCSI) came up with an ASP.NET based called Docs3D, a Web Application that combined the functionality of both WebDocs and DocWin and at the same time extended the core functionality to provide a Web Services Oriented Framework for Loan Documents Generation.

UI - AJAX EXPERIENCE

The AJAX experience really enhanced the end-user experience by reducing the flicker on screens and allowing critical calculations to be performed without re-loading the entire page. The calculations were programmed as reusable libraries so that they can be used by both the Web Application and the Web Services.

The user interface was completely revamped to model a linear information flow across screens leading to the generation of Loan Documents.

ADDED VALUE

Docs3D provided the customer with better options as compared to its predecessors. - Seamless data integration capabilities were provided for complete automation.

  • Xml based integration was capable using Web Services. Customers could send MISMO XML request files containing loan data to perform calculations, data validations and loan document generations.
  • Customers had the option to either install the application locally, or access it remotely. "Docs3D was designed to position LSSI and our customers to be eMortgage enabled, which includes SMART documents and intelligent PDFs”
